This nonfiction book takes you on a delightful journey of sounds (and silence)! The journey begins with the general and vast discussion of the expanse of sounds in our lives and ends with a focus on our individual relationship with sounds that help make us unique as we make sense of each other and the world around us. With each page turn we consider sound and/or silence from different perspectives (e.g., medical, scientific, geographical, linguistic, behavioral, etc.), resulting in a symphony of information and contemplation about how important sound is in our lives.
