Book Description
for Letters from Bear by Gauthier David and Marie Caudry
From The United States Board on Books for Young People (USBBY)
In this epistolary picture book, Bird flies south for the winter, leaving Bear behind to hibernate. Before long, Bear realizes how much he misses Bird and decides to travel south to reunite with his friend. As he does, he writes letters every day to remain close to the friend he misses. This series of letters not only documents Bear's journey, it chronicles the adventures (and misadventures) of the two friends until they are reunited. The warm palette and whimsical illustrations celebrate the beauty of nature and the importance of love.
