Jan L. Coates: Hello. My name is Jan Coates, as in coats you wear to stay warm, but with an E on the end. Before I was married, my name was Janet Lynne Mingo, as in Bingo, the game, but my family had always called me Jan. And as I became an adult, I felt Jan suited me better, and so I am now Jan Coates.
