Michael Mahin: My name is Michael Mahin. That's M-A-H-I-N. It used to be McMahin back at some point in history when one of our ancestors were coming over from Ireland or from Scotland. We're Scots-Irish, my family is. We lost the "mick." I think that happened to a lot of immigrants who were trying to Americanize their names or trying to fit in. Of course, we forget that these days the Irish were horribly tormented and harassed like any other immigrants are in this country. At some point, we lost the "mick," but it used to be McMahin, but these days, it's just Mahin.
