Emily Jenkins: Hi, this is Emily Jenkins. My first name, Emily comes from my father's favorite poet, Emily Dickinson. Jenkins is a name that comes from Ellis Island. My family came over from Russia and had a long and apparently unpronounceable Russian name that I've never learned. And Jenkin was given to them as they disembarked at Ellis Island. Then the S was added by my mother after my parents divorced, as a little insertion of her independence. And I shared a name with her, so I have the S as well.
