Gavin Curtis: Hello. My name is Gavin Curtis. Growing up, teachers and clerks and anyone else in charge of registering, or taking attendance, would often confuse Curtis to be my first name, and Gavin to be my last, since both names have been commonly used as both a first name and a last name.

I don't often come across many people with the name Gavin. In fact, the first time I ever met someone with the same name was my first day in high school. In a completely random moment of serendipity, I sat in the only free seat I could find in homeroom, next to a kid who also happened to be named Gavin. I was his first-ever meeting of another Gavin, too.
